Cosmic burl

With all my resin art forms, I try to make them look like a landscape painting, but in a three-dimensional form. I like to use a small piece of wood that would otherwise be destined for the fire. I stabilise the wood and dye it at the same time. This gives the piece more depth and gives it a really nice texture. I’m free to make it anyway I choose as I’m not tied down to a particular shape, size or colour, like would normally be the case with a log. In addition to my resin pieces, I still love to make the more traditional wood turned art forms, but incorporating the natural angles and shapes from the tree
