Join woodturner Randon Burns for a focused introduction to spindle turning, giving beginners the essential skills to safely turn, finish and assemble two single-timber Christmas ornaments. Suitable for complete beginners with no previous woodturning experience who would like a focused, accessible introduction to spindle turning through a practical finished project. The session will take place in the workshop in West Dean College and includes tutor demonstrations and individual turning of Christmas ornaments.
This Day Session provides a broader design-led introduction resulting in approximately four to five ornaments, with timber selection, laminated construction, more individual tuition and an introduction to basic chuck-mounted work.
