School visits to Cockpit are an opportunity for students to engage with our extraordinary community of makers, meet craftspeople in their studios, and take part in creative workshops where makers share their skills and practice.
Cockpit is an award-winning charity and social enterprise that has provided studio space and business support to makers for nearly 40 years. A visit to Cockpit provides students with a unique opportunity to see and experience first-hand a working maker studio.
School visits and tours are available at both our Bloomsbury and Deptford locations.

For Primary schools, we recommend a workshop-focused session which includes a hands-on introduction to materials and craft object handling, an in-depth creative making workshop, and short studio visits with a selection of our makers.
For Secondary schools, we recommend a careers-focused session, including an introduction to craft skills and careers, a tour to meet three makers in their studios, and a careers Q&A with a panel of makers and Cockpit staff. We can also offer a creative workshop hosted by one of our makers.
