Randon Burns

Woodturner

About

Randon is a London-based woodturner best known for his hand-turned wooden globes. Each globe is inlaid with precious metals or set with gems to trace journeys, connections, and landmarks, bringing together craft, geography, and storytelling. Alongside his own practice, he teaches woodturning at Blackhorse Workshop in Walthamstow, where he first learned the craft.

Originally from the United States, Randon has lived in London for nearly two decades and draws on experience with carving, jewellery making, and silversmithing to inform his practice. A 2025 Cockpit Bursary recipient supported by the Worshipful Company of Woodturners, he focuses on storytelling, connection, and the material beauty of wood.
