New Glass Light Sculptures by Helen Brough

As the 2024 Cockpit Glass Sellers’ Bursary recipient, Helen Brough has been busy in her Bloomsbury studio designing and creating a beautiful new series of glass light sculptures.

For each unique piece, the glass is painted and kiln-fired before being UV bonded and lit with a KED light panel. Inspired by her own small paintings and watercolors, these sculptures use silver stain and glass enamels, resulting in a vibrant interplay of light and color.

An Exciting New Collection from Darren Appiagyei

Darren Appiagyei‘s bespoke wood pieces are inspired by Ghanaian wood carving and the rawness and exploration of textures. Utilising exotic materials to craft functional objects, each of his creations tells a story.

Darren’s new Ignatius collection is named after his father, whose name in Latin means ‘ignited, set on fire’. These horse chestnut vessels were created through shaping and hollowing the wood on a lathe before using a pyrographic machine to burn the wood dot by dot.

See the collection in Cox & Power’s latest exhibition.
