Annie Warburton steps down as Cockpit CEO

11.10.23

After five years as CEO, Annie Warburton is stepping down from Cockpit to take up the role of Clerk and CEO at the Goldsmiths’ Company, where she will be the first female Clerk in the Company’s history. She will leave Cockpit on the 8th December and begins her new position in January 2024.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks to Annie for her commitment and hard work; for leading Cockpit so positively through the pandemic and for her many achievements, too numerous to mention, culminating in the completion of the refurbishment of Cockpit Deptford, opening on 1st December. She has been an outstanding leader and colleague.

Cockpit moves forward with confidence, excitement, and with a renewed ability to support more emerging and early-stage makers; enhancing our mission to educate, to encourage sustainable creative business growth and widen access to craft. Annie’s impact at Cockpit has been significant, and she leaves with our warmest wishes for her continued success in her new role.

The Board of Trustees has started the formal process of recruiting a new CEO and we will make further announcements at the relevant time.
