Lykky Studio is the creative practice of knitwear designer Merina Pelander. Rooted in her Finnish heritage, traditional craftsmanship, and Scandinavian design, Merina focuses on using dead stock yarns and sustainably sourced materials, creating contemporary clothing and accessories. Each piece is crafted in-studio using a vintage knitting machine with the combination of hand knitting and crochet techniques.
After graduating from Nottingham Trent University with a Master’s in Fashion Knitwear Design, Merina developed her work through collaborations with other designers and independent fashion brands, creating both ready-to-wear and one-of-a-kind pieces. She was also one of the finalists in Feel the Yarn, an international competition for emerging knitwear designers.
Throughout this time, Merina continued refining her creative direction, leading to the launch of Lykky Studio in 2024. Alongside selling her pieces, she also teaches hand knitting crochet, sharing her passion with others.
