Applications are now open for our second awards intake of the year, with one Award and one Bursary accepting applications. We’re also once again accepting applications for Standard studio spaces – keep reading to learn more!

Receiving an Award or Bursary at Cockpit is a prestigious achievement in its own right. You’ll also benefit from:

The Turners’ Award is for an aspiring or established turner working in wood or other materials. The Award includes a year’s studio space, the use of a lathe and workbench and access to our brand-new Wood Hub in Cockpit Deptford. Past awardees include Dave Evers, Jason Lock, Darren Appiagyei and Eleanor Lakelin.

The Arts Society GLA Bursary provides a one-year opportunity to a maker specialising in traditional craft skills, including those that are deemed at risk of dying out. Past awardees include Mandy Brannan, Giulia Manzoni, Meron Wolde and Mariano Palencia Crespo.
