1-2-1 Leather Workshop

Sign up for a 1-2-1 leather workshop, specialising in traditional leatherwork of hand stitching with master craftswoman, Candice Lau. Each workshop is tailored to what the individual wishes to learn and make. Therefore, a customised curriculum will be uniquely designed for each participant. This course is ideal for someone wishing to learn the process of leatherwork from design to making, and for those wishing to take away a set of skills to continue on with leatherwork in your own studio. The workshop will always start with the basics which includes: understanding leather learning the use of the essential tools saddle stitching edge finishing pattern making From here on, you will design, pattern make and craft your own product with the guidance from Candice to be completed over the duration of the course. Here, we will discuss and apply different methods of construction such as: t-base box bag bucket bag pipped handles adjustable straps and many more… All materials and use of tools are included in the price. You will learn about the list of tools necessary to start your own leather studio, the types of leather suitable for hand stitching work, a list of merchants in and around the London area. Do bring along a notebook if you wish to take notes.
