Nicci James is the knitwear designer behind UNUSUWUL a research and development studio championing the diversity and possibility of wool fibres.
Nicci studied MA Fashion at the Royal College of Art (2022). Nicci continued to refine her innovative fabrication process through winning the Young Innovators Award and formed UNUSUWUL in 2023 to bring both her innovative process and extensive research into wool to industry facing projects.
In 2025, UNUSUWUL has been working on funded research projects in partnership British Wool and South Eastern England Fibreshed to champion the champion the amazingly diverse properties of native breed wool fibres.
