Kamilah Ahmed is a London-based embroidery artist and designer specialising in material innovation and surface design. With a background in couture fashion, designing for Dior, Valentino, and The Attico, her approach to interiors blends precise craftsmanship with expressive detailing. Most recently, she led new embroidery design development at de Gournay, translating her couture sensibility into bespoke wall coverings and spatial textiles. From her Holborn studio at Cockpit Arts, she now focuses on bespoke creations, collaborations, and commissions that place heritage crafts in contemporary interior contexts.

Drawing inspiration from inherited traditional textile disciplines such as the art of Jamdani weaving Kamilah reimagines the potential of hand making techniques through combined Ari hook beading, hand manipulations and digital embroidery to create fresh and elaborate finishes.
