Textile Making

About

Alicia Rowbotham is multidisciplinary textile designer, researcher and artist based in London with a focus on artisanal luxury textiles and objects for contemporary interiors. With a First-class honours degree from Central Saint Martins attained in 2019, Alicia went on to start her bespoke design and make studio in 2020 working exclusively with private clients within the interiors industry.

Alicia Rowbotham studio collections combine the techniques of established traditional textile methods such as hand weaving, passementerie and embroidery as well as leather and metal work in contemporary design for bespoke works as seen in Elle Decoration, Collect International Art Fair, Crafts magazine, and Forbes. Alicia has been commended for her material innovation within her practice, utilising waste materials from the textile industry in all of her studio collections and private client works.

“'I love the idea of textiles evoking a feeling within a space, whether that is creating a softness through a silk artwork installation or adding meticulous detail with a bespoke woven fabric' ”
