His independent practice, ELEGY, is a developing collection of distinctive leather accessories that brings together bold forms, refined construction and a strong attention to material, hardware and detail. Each piece is developed through experimentation and prototyping, balancing function with a sculptural and tactile quality. ELEGY reflects João’s interest in creating objects with a strong visual identity while allowing the craftsmanship and character of the leather to remain central.
