Bespoke Patchwork Cushion

Description
Bespoke zero waste cushion is handmade from preloved textiles, natural dyes and filled with discarded textile offcuts, creating an environmentally-friendly and comforting product.
The cushion is an expansion of my exhibited piece ‘Waste Quilt,’ utilising left over preloved textiles and given them a new function and least of life.
M A T E R I A L S & P R O C E S S E S
Cover - 100% preloved cotton fabric, naturally dyed with onion skins and nettles sourced locally.
Cover - Cotton Embroidery
Inside Cover - Natural cotton wadding which has never been washed or bleached with harsh chemicals, making it kinder to the environment.
Cushion - Preloved cotton fabric and filled with textile waste and old pillow stuffing, creating a zero waste product.
Processes - Four traditional textile techniques of: Natural Dyes, Patchwork, Quilting and Hand Embroidery. Each hand process is lengthy, with the production time for each cushion around 8 hours labour.
Each cushion is completely unique, utilising discarded fabrics to create beautiful exclusive designs.
Packing is 100% sustainable, recycled and recyclable or compostable.

Handmade product so please handle with care. Wipe clean only with damp cloth. Position in a location where minimal wear-and-tear is likely. Keep cushion out of direct sunlight.
Cover and cushion are made from preloved textiles, therefore do not contain fire retardant materials, so please keep away from a naked flame.
