Elisabetta Cipriani Gallery presents a series of new powerful wearable sculptures by the “master of the sculptural jewel” Ute Decker.
Ute Decker sculpts movement into powerful minimalist forms. Sensuous undulations characterize the new Waves series created for this exhibition. Expressing the beauty of nature through abstractions, the artist is arresting time to take a closer look at the movement of waves, usually so fleeting.
Ute Decker is a pioneer of the responsible jewellery movement and was one of the very first in the world to work with Fairtrade Gold. Her award-winning work is exhibited internationally and found in several museum collections including the V&A.
Elisabetta Cipriani Gallery invites contemporary artists, often approaching the realm of jewellery for the first time to experiment and works with them creating a series wearable sculpture and has created jewels with such renowned artists as Ai WeiWei, Rebecca Horn and Jannis Kounellis.
