Cockpit is a centre for excellence in craft, bridging the gap between talent and opportunity. We are an award-winning social enterprise, home to over 175 independent creative businesses in London.
Twice a year we open our doors to the public, for the opportunity to meet some of the world’s most celebrated craftspeople in their studios. Surrounded by their tools, materials and work-in-progress, this is a rare authentic glimpse behind the scenes and a chance to hear first-hand about their inspiration, process and the often meandering journeys they’ve been on to get here.
We welcome many new makers each year, so even returning visitors are certain to discover someone new. Our programme of funded studio placements means we are home to some of the most exciting emerging makers, who you can discover at Cockpit before the rest of the world does!
Open studios is also an opportunity to buy direct from makers. Working across a range of materials and techniques, our makers cover everything from millinery to jewellery, and fine art ceramics to sustainable woven textiles. Not sure where to start? Join our mailing list to receive our themed guides and help you make the most of your visit.
