If you’re visiting Cockpit Open Studios Deptford, why not take the chance to bring a piece of clothing along and have it dyed while you browse or shop.
For the OPEN DYE VAT days, Caitlin Maxwell Hughan invites you in to her studio for a unique opportunity to breathe new life into a forgotten piece of clothing using natural dyes.
- Bring a garment made of 70%+ natural fibres (e.g. cotton, wool, silk).
- Leave it with Caitlin to dye while you explore the studios (or stay and watch the process in action!)
- Collect (wet) or have it posted back after it’s transformed.
Each day, the vat will change colour, so choose your day based on the colour you desire.
Saturday 30th November: PINK (dusky pinks/peach/dark purple – Avocado)
Sunday 1st December: YELLOW (a clear, bright yellow – Weld)
Items to consider include socks, T-shirt, pillow cases, cap, long-sleeve tee, a shirt…
Spaces are limited, so book in confirm your dye spot at a special price of £10 per item.
