Join Alice on Saturday 21st October 2-4:30pm at Cockpit Studios to learn how to harness food waste to create yummy natural dyes into waste fabrics ♻️
Introduce yourself to the basics of natural dyeing and enjoy the fun and interactive bundle dye workshop, learn how to create beautiful botanical patterns and take home swatches and botanically dyed upcycled fabric, creating a visual statement of slow conscious design.
Bonus activities, studio tour and paint with natural dye inks onto watercolour paper and cards
First hour of the workshop, introduce yourself to the basics of natural dyeing with food waste such as:
How to prepare fabrics for dyeing
What are mordants?
How to make a dye bath with food waste
How to dye fabrics
Take home a fabric swatch and online pdf
Second hour of the workshop, learn the ‘Bundle Dye’ technique and take home a large fabric sample which can be used as a napkin at home or a silk scarf. Towards the end of the workshop, enjoy painting with natural dye inks onto watercolour paper and cards.
