Neve Beill

Ceramics

About

Growing up between London and the Isle of Wight, Neve Beill has long been captivated by the tactile qualities of the island’s clay. Early experiences playing with local clays left a lasting impression, shaping her ceramics practice today.

She holds a BA in Product and Furniture Design from Chelsea College of Arts, and her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions and publications.

Process

She primarily works with foraged materials, from wild clay to glass shards, bone fragments and a wide range of natural substances, which she burns to create ash glazes. Her work is often location based, driven by the process of discovery, seeking out viable materials while drawing inspiration from diverse landscapes and found objects. Experimentation is a key part of her process, aiming to create unique reactions that reflect the textures and tones of the locations the materials originated.
