Grace Willsmer is a multiple award-winning craft leatherworker at Cockpit under the Leathersellers' Award 2025. Their work focuses on using traditional hand skills to make beautiful leather objects, ranging from saddlery and harness to footwear and costume. Inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement, their pieces are recognisable for their exquisite details, with material qualities and making process leading the form and decoration of the item.
Grace has been working with leather since 2016, and have designed and made costume props and set pieces for the Royal Ballet and Opera, worked as a made to order footwear artisan for a small luxury designer, and made costume pieces for immersive theatre travelling the country on a train. They trained for three years at Capel Manor College.
