Sculptor in wood, Eleanor Lakelin, at Masterpiece
Eleanor Lakelin will once again be showing new work with Sarah Myerscough Gallery in the feature exhibition Seeing the Forest for the Trees.
Seeing the Forest for the Trees is an evolving discussion, a dramatic visual argument for entwining the philosophy of environmental sustainability with high-end design and a tactile connection to the natural world. The curation includes fine heirloom objects and furniture crafted from organic materials and grown from practices which prioritise the material legacy and impact of objects.
“Our presentation interrogates assumptions about the value of materials; our artist-designer-makers transform the most humble-seeming of material into works of enduring luxury, problematising what we use, waste and venerate.”
– Sarah Myerscough Gallery
Eleanor is also delighted to announce that Column Series: Pillar I/ 2021 (pictured at the top of page) has been selected as one of sixteen sculptural works to be exhibited throughout Masterpiece Fair this year.
“Our 2022 Sculpture Series, curated by Melanie Vandenbrouck, Curator of Sculpture at the V&A, showcases dynamic works from across history throughout the Fair… Exploring the multifaceted languages of modern and contemporary sculpture, this selection considers innovative investigations of form and matter…”
– Masterpiece
The curation includes sculptures by William Turnbull, Emily Young, Cathie Pilkington Lynn Chadwick and Zak Ové.
