In celebration of the places we love, Cockpit invites you to make a flag for its Jubilee bunting during the Cockpit Summer Festival. With thanks to the #LetsCreate Jubilee Fund, Cockpit are working with local communities, schools and visitors to craft bunting that will wind around its buildings in Bloomsbury and Deptford. Drop into the dedicated studio during your visit and be inspired by Cockpit Makers who’ll give tips and guidance to help create your unique flag.

Co-run by Kelvin Birk and Katrin Spranger, K2 Academy will have a programme of demonstrations throughout the festival weekend exploring many jewellery techniques, courtesy of their students.

Half Day Mosaic Workshop with Giulia Manzoni

This half day workshop is a ‘taste of mosaic’ where you will learn how to use mosaic tools and material to create a unique piece of art.     Half day workshops are suitable for people who are complete beginners wanting try a taster session to learn the basics of mosaic making and have a fun day, but everyone is welcome to join this workshop and the content will be tailored to suit people’s ability levels.

What does a fashion designer do? This unique opportunity will allow you to be guided through the designer’s process, from inspiration to sourcing, palette, design and sampling. There will be time for questions along with a preview of the forming collection.

“By presenting my most recent ‘work in process’, this unique opportunity will introduce you to the ‘design process’. From inspiration to palette, design development and making. With advice and useful tips, this intimate workshop may offer the insight you need to get started or further your creative journey.” With useful handouts and time for Q&A’s.

Ian is both a design tutor at Central Saint Martins and freelance designer with 25 years’ experience.
