Double the Impact — Support Cockpit During The Big Give

Double your donation and support London’s creative community

Craft skills are central to our cultural heritage and vital to our creative future, yet access to learning craft skills is falling as creative education languishes.

Those who do choose a career in craft need careful support — whether in the fragile, start-up stages of their careers or as they look to take their practice to the next level.

The Cockpit Effect

A charity and UK top 100 social enterprise, Cockpit provides funded studio space, in-house business training and exhibition opportunities for our makers, alongside youth and community programmes across London.

Read our impact report here.

At Cockpit, we create opportunities for people of all backgrounds to discover and enjoy craft. We promote craft careers and provide training and education to protect the future of craft skills, opening pathways into professional practice for more, and more diverse, people.

In the face of declining opportunities for young people to discover and learn craft skills, we provide engaging workshops to start them on their journey, as well as working with partners to offer a rich community programme.

Your support is needed now more than ever.

Every donation made from 18th – 25th March will be doubled to enable us to continue providing critical support to makers and young creatives across the craft sector.

One Donation, Double the Impact

Visit BigGive.org between midday 18th – 25th March and your donation will be doubled!

About the campaign:

  • Big Give is partnering with New Philanthropy for Arts & Culture (NPAC), a network of arts supporters who are passionate about increasing philanthropic support of the arts and culture sector, to launch the inaugural Arts for Impact campaign aimed at supporting arts and culture charities across the UK.

How it works:

  • The campaign will see the public’s generosity multiplied, as donations to participating charities will be doubled by the Big Give’s Arts for Impact match fund, which has been supported by generous ‘champions’, typically philanthropists, foundations or companies.

When the public donates to a charity through Big Give, funders match that donation. So £50 from a member of the public becomes £100 for a good cause.

Every donation, no matter the size, will make double the difference.

“My visit to Cockpit was great! I loved seeing all the types of craft and design and what it could lead to in the future!”
