Second Lives is a new exhibition platform celebrating artists who have developed their practice alongside other careers.
To begin again. To see things anew. To forge a new path, without denying the old one. This is the premise of Second Lives, a group exhibition in which each of the artists’ practice has emerged alongside or been enriched by totally different careers. Curated by Paula Lent and Jane Neal, the exhibition brings together works by a selection of leading contemporary artists; Lucille Lewin, Sophie Bayntun, Helen Beard, Jyll Bradley, Wesley Eberle, Maryam Eisler, Nicole Farhi, Kate Jackson, and David Rae.
The artists’ second lives encompass successful careers in commercial and political strategy, fashion, film and set design, fine dining, music and publishing. What unites them is how these experiences have become a vital means of navigating their relationship with the world.
