Learn to Weave Workshop
Learn to weave is a 2-day beginners workshop for those who wish to get started in the craft of weaving, including how to set up a handloom. It is also suitable for anyone returning to weaving who wants a refresher.
You will weave samples on two types of 8 shaft table looms pre-warped in different materials, selecting your choice of weft and colour. With the help of your experienced tutor, you will also make a warp and learn how to put it on a loom.
Charlotte Grierson has been teaching beginners for over 20 years, and brings over 30 years of weaving wisdom. She will guide you through each step of the process. At the end of the session you will take away the samples you have woven together with a comprehensive handout to help you keep going.
What you will learn:
- How to make a warp
- How to dress the loom
- Basic weaving patterns and structures
