The Calum Gourlay Big Band
Calum Gourlay’s residency continues this month at Cockpit. This time he brings his own big band. Playing Calum’s own original compositions and arrangements for big band, this is not one to miss.
Sacha Harlan’s Contexture
Contexture is a continuation of Sacha Harlan’s musical partnership with bassist Kobe Heath-Ngugi, interwoven with the tightly unified pairing of saxophonist George Mooney and trombonist Olivia Hughes. Their embodiment of a heavy group interdependence conjures immediate and radical evolutions within their improvisation, contributing to a naturally fiery and extroverted sound.
