Cathy Pütz is an innovator in public engagement and partnership strategy in the heritage sector. As Director of Programmes at the award-winning Derby Museums, including Museum of Making, she designed new commercial initiatives to grow skills and economic opportunity in partnership with business and charities like Heritage Crafts. She ran the V&A’s national and international exhibition touring programme and was Head of Exhibitions at the National Gallery, as well as Exhibitions Lead at Tate Britain. Cathy has developed smaller public spaces showcasing the best in art, design and making practice, opening RIBA’s first public gallery in 2014. She is passionate about international cultural collaboration and the importance of advocacy for arts programming in communities.

“I have been a great admirer of Cockpit for many years, working closely with makers in the Midlands who benefited from its unique guidance in excellence of practice and nurturing of young entrepreneurs. I look forward to contributing to widening Cockpit’s impacts nationally and internationally.”
